Originally named Samuel Allenton, he was rescued as an infant by a dwarven expedition team that came across his hometown of Gotha as it was being ransacked by angry giants. He was given the name Samryn (Dwarven, translates to “trustworthy”) and raised by dwarven clerics of Pelor at the monastery of Runedarthor. Samryn developed a deep understanding and respect for the dwarven culture, as well as exhibiting an innate ability to invoke the power of Pelor seemingly at will.
At the age of 16, Samryn left Runedarthor, took on the surname Araucoral (Dwarven, translates to “giantkiller”) and moved to the river city Wurncrag. He owns and teaches at a school educating the most talented of dwarves in Samryn’s unique applications of his invoking power, which is considered to be as strong as it is reckless.
Samryn is highly regarded in Wurncrag, having been instrumental in the defense of the city from kobold marauders. After years of unsuccessful attacks, the kobolds seem to have given up in their attempts to pillage the city.
While very intelligent and wise, Samryn Araucoral is nearly incapable of trusting giants, and internally struggles with his religious beliefs, which discourage him from exacting vengeance on the race that took his parents’ lives.
